Mobile Hotspots

Check out the internet!

Logan County Libraries cardholders can access free, unlimited high-speed internet from almost anywhere through our Wi-Fi Hotspot lending program.

Mobile hotspots allow library cardholders who do not have home internet access to easily get online from almost anywhere using a Wi-Fi-enabled device such as a phone, tablet, or laptop. Hotspots are available to check out from all Logan County Libraries locations, just like a book or DVD.

Hotspot FAQs

My Hotspot is not working. What do I do?

The Hotspot must be turned on to work. If it does not turn on, it may need to be charged before use. Please use the included cord and charger to charge the Hotspot. Turning the Hotspot off when not in use will save battery life.

My Hotspot is on, but it is still not working.

For assistance, please call the Knowlton Library at 937-599-4189 during normal business hours. Once the Hotspot has been kept past its due date, the service will be turned off.

What is the Wi-Fi password for the Hotspot?

Passwords are displayed on the screen of the Hotspot. The password must be typed in exactly as shown.

Is there a limit on the data or speed of the Hotspot connection?

The Hotspot is a 4G mobile broadband device. After 25 Gigabytes of data is downloaded per month, Verizon Wireless will throttle back the device speed. For this reason, please refrain from excessive downloading of audio and video data that may make Hotspot perform more slowly at the end of the month.

Is there a limit on how many devices can use the Hotspot?

You can connect up to 10 different devices simultaneously with the Hotspot.

Will the Hotspot work in my location?

The Hotspot will work anywhere that is covered by the Verizon network. To see a network map, visit: verizon.com/coverage-map/. Hotspots will not work outside of the continental United States, i.e., Alaska or Hawaii.

How long can I check out the Hotspot?

The Hotspot is checked out for 14 days and cannot be renewed. Once you return the Hotspot, you may place a hold for another Hotspot.

How do I return the Hotspot?

Please return the Hotspot to the Library or Branch where it was borrowed. You may place it in the Book Drop or return it inside the building.

Are there risks associated with using Hotspots?

There is no guarantee that this device cannot be detected and used by outside parties. The Logan County Library Mobile Hotspot Lending – Best Practice informs you of this risk, and your signature indicates that you are aware of the risks associated with using the device.
